It's big and great business but didn't touch the first avengers and the 2nd will crush guardians and beat the first avengers

Here's some on the first avengers

“The Avengers” reached the $1 billion mark as quickly as “Avatar” and the last “Harry Potter” movie, despite opening earlier overseas than in America. Marvel’s action-packed tentpole (which unites several of their heroes) already broke the all-time opening weekend record when it opened last weekend, and with its $103.2 million estimated domestic gross this weekend, “The Avengers” is now the record holder for the biggest second-weekend number too. Thanks to its $628.9 million 19-day international haul, “The Avengers” is now one of only 11 movies to climb past the $1 billion mark worldwide.

The avengers DOUBLED Guardians

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $623,357,910 41.0%
+ Foreign: $895,237,000 59.0%
= Worldwide: $1,518,594,910
Domestic Summary
Opening Weekend: $207,438,708
(#1 rank, 4,349 theaters, $47,698 average)
% of Total Gross: 33.3%
> View All 22 Weekends
Widest Release: 4,349 theaters
Close Date: October 4, 2012
In Release: 154 days / 22 weeks

The only other MCU movie to cross over $1 billion was Iron Man 3. But seriously, Guardians of the Galaxy did well considering it is not an A or B list comic like Spiderman, Ironman, X-Men, and Captain America.

Oh I know, I told you i thought it did good from all the news. I did think it did better than what it did though but I know it was a test and they were seeing what they could do with a raccoon a tree and 3 other unknown characters to most of the world

Guardians never had a moment where it even looked like Ronan could win. I would have liked to see Ronan destroy another world or two, or Thanos destroy a galaxy.

It was also focused heavily on 1 liners mostly from Pratt, and while it was funny that was pretty much it for me.

In Avengers when Loki unleashes the Chitauri armies through the worm hole the first and second time, the audience and characters on screen are kind of like, "oh shit" which created a nice intensity.

Also having the movies from the avengers set them all up did help them out. I think to gauge them a little more eaqually you would have to watch the avengers without knowing much about the other characters as well. Or I could be wrong there.

But even with that Ashley seemed to like Avengers more and she didn't know anything of the avengers beforehand.

I still think the biggest problem was too much comedy

Agreed, IMO it wasn't as funny as they were trying to make it and that's bc a lot of Pratt's schtick was cliche whereas I think Rdj's wit, sarcasm and delivery are brilliantly done. You don't see most of Rdj's lines coming which makes them freakin hilarious when you hear it.

Exactly

"We have a hulk" simply beats any line in guardians and there was so many more that didn't feel forced or out of place and at the perfect time in avengers.

I thought bradley cooper was awesome in silver linings despite hating him in most movies where he just plays the perfect guy.

I thought he was way better than Jennifer Lawrence despite her being super ridiculously sexy. I think Dicaprio did a great job in Django as well as shutter island despite hating his total fag roles in most movies. I think a lot for me comes down to the movies themselves. Its hard to say someone is good in a movie when you think the movie is shit. for me anyway.

DiCaprio can act his ass off, that's for sure.
