Depends on the price tag. I've said that I'm ok with the Yankees sucking for a few years to get good draft picks to retool. However, they need to actually retool and not claim that they're rebuilding like they did this year. They need to move money off the roster ie AFraud and Teix (unless they finally convince him he's no longer a switch hitter).
ericberry14 wrote:If the Yankees claim rebuilding that's a total fucking failure. Period. With the money they spend they should win the World Series every year. Anything less is a failure. But trying to rebuild... Let's call it what it is. They outspend everyone and still can't get it done
I know the gap has narrowed but the amount of money spent in New York over the last decade and beyond was completely ridiculous and if they used that money as wisely as the As did during the moneyball era they'd win every year. It's pathetic to not be a contender when spendin more money than everyone else. PeriodY4NK33 PL4N3T wrote:ericberry14 wrote:If the Yankees claim rebuilding that's a total fucking failure. Period. If we're calling it what it is, your comment is 'retarded'. I'm going to assume you're trolling and move forward.
If you're brain dead and not trolling, we can discuss how little payroll has to do with winning championships later.
As for Scherzer, I could care less. I'm pretty much done with NYY's blowing their load on 1 or 2 guys in the FA market.
We have a generation of steroid abusers and 1 out of every 100 FA's will produce as expected, so I'd rather see the money go into the farm.
Granted, that won't happen b/c they are the New York Yankees, and if they have even 1 season of sub .500 play the media has a field day and the bandwagon fan base cries like bitches for Cashman to go spend money. They're stuck in a catch 22.
