Gun shows do not require a background check. Guns have a black market. Even if it's done by "normal" means, in Florida you can have an incomplete criminal record (I.E. arrest with no disposition) and be sold a gun after 3 days have passed without a disqualifying conviction.

That means Betty can legally buy a gun when she has arrests, but no convictions, for written threat to kill, armed robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, etc. all in her criminal record.

And guns are bought and sold more than once every 2 years.
