For the Stanley Cup Finals games in TB the Lightning aren't permitting rival CHI Blackcock fans to wear CHI fan attire in certain seating sections of the stadium, and are also restricting tickets sales to FL residents only.

How is that a fail? Nashville did it too. It's a smart decision when facing massive market teams as a small market team.

This is just called a good business decision.

Seems like bullshit to me. If you are a fan of another team and they are playing locally you should be able to buy tickets wherever you want and wear whatever non profain shirt or jersey you want

The Lightning are a privately owned business who can allow whomever they want into their arena. How does that not make sense?

Just because people have the right to do something doesn't mean it's not bullshit. If I opened a restaurant and said no niggers allowed would that be bullshit?

Completely bush league.

If Tampa Bay can't create a TB Lightning home atmosphere by getting local TB fans to buy more playoff tickets than fans of CHI living all the way north across the country then you're fuckin fan base is pathetic.

Called douchebag bandwagon faggots.

All over Florida these morons like MD who have no affiliation with the team run around not cheering for local programs.

Has nothing to do with the Lightning. They have a top tier arena, gameday environment, and team. But only so much you can do with all the faggots in this state who support other teams. It's a smart move. We aren't like Tennessee where we have a full state of fans. We have a state full of little northern fags who move here because it's a significantly better life here, but keep their teams and cheer against ours.

If you want to see the Chicago game Chicago fans...go to your own fucking city. See Anaheim. They had a huge fan base all season sold out. But Chicago fans got in their arena. It's the dynasty in hockey and a small market team can't beat that out even in their own home really.

Add in it's only certain parts of the Arena. Not every ticket is restricted. Just the club level party rooms and near the ice on the outer edges I think.

Don't be so sure.

There are a ton of bandwagon people who are born in florida.

I have kids from my high school who cheer for Boston, New York, Chicago etc...

none of these fucks lived in any of those places. It's because Florida teams don't have a ton of history outside of really the Dolphins, so everyone decides instead of supporting their place they call home, it's easier to be a fan of a big market team that wins.

Now there are more Lightning fans in Tampa than Chicago, and New York, and Montreal. We had more fans in the seats than them so Chicago wasn't going to go big time in our arena Lightning have a really good following for Florida pro team. But there still would have been a lot. So I like the idea of the high value seats being a Tampa zone only so fans who pay absurd prices can celebrate and not be bothered by visiting fans in a finals when they pay 2-3k a seat. It's the same thing the Florida Gators and most colleges do to. We aren't selling you tickets in the Champions club, on our 50(most colleges UF was forced too because of a pee bag throwing incident) or our student section. It's not a bad idea. Keep the top value for your fans only.

its not legal to tell someone who bought a ticket what jersey they can wear, they are begging to get sued

I think it's even worse that they won't sell tickets to people out of state. I bet Stubhub is on fire.

Fuckin' pussies. :down

Biggest pussy sentiment you've ever posted. :down

Anyone who's ever bought a ticket to any professional sporting event does so knowing that there will be rival fans in the same building cheering against them, that's part of the charm of seeing it live & that's how rivalries are born. Don't want to hear rival fans? Stay at home.

The fact that the Lighting segregate the stadium so the high roller ticket buyers don't have to interact with rival high roller fans is pathetic.

I wish all Florida teams did it.

Punish the shit bags who move here and rout against your team though they live here. I feel no sympathy nor care for those pieces of shit. Like your team and city...go home.

It's annoying. It's why at Rays games we have gotten in over 4 fights or altercations when my friends and I go. Cheering is one thing, but to run your mouth about the team in the city you moved to because your city sucks? Go back.
