Nebraska banned the death penalty yesterday and a bunch of retarts from both sides making arguments that don't make sense. So far my favorite is that apparently if you are pro-choice you can't be possibly be against the death penalty.

Nebraska passed it

Governor vetoed it

They overruled it.... Red state my ass. If I was gonna kill somebody Nebraska would be my first choice now just to laugh at them

Death penalty is pointless because they wait so long before they kill the person.
- They vindicate 5 cases per year or something like that in the United States
- It becomes more expensive to have someone sit on death for 15- 20 years than to give them a life sentence(After all of the costs of imprisonment and appeals add up)
- Murder rates on average are normally higher in death penalty states
- Murder rates on average are lower in states who abolished the death penalty

If that murder stat is true it doesn't prove cause... I would bet the states with the death penalty have higher minority populations as well. Which has more to do with the murder rate? Who knows. I'd bet they have higher poverty rates too. Does the death penalty cause poverty and minorities? :dog

I say kill em and do it quick before they rack up the bills with the free lawyers.

Non- death penalty states include Michigan, Illinois and Maryland. Which are shitholes in their right.
For 2013, the average Murder Rate of Death Penalty states was 4.4, while the average Murder Rate of States without the Death Penalty was 3.4
