Yes. But he missed the part about the fact that no other team would be able to pay 129 Million anyways, and NO one was offering him a larger contract.

So he signs with New York and forces a huge contract the Knicks moronically sign, then comes back basically a 2 million a year discount on a contract only the Knicks would even think about paying him. See Lebron may be a douche, but at least he does care about something besides himself. Doesn't seem like Carmelo does. He certainly doesn't care about winning, cause he would have bolted to the Rockets or Bulls to win.

I didn't miss it, I could just care less as it wasn't the primary argument btw you and MD.

And Leoptout is a self obsessed, selfish joke. Gtfo with that garbage.

Le opt signed a two year deal specifically so he could get a bigger contract or leave cleveland

And gato thinks melo is greedy...

Lebron signing for 2 years saves cleveland money and allows him to resign after the cap goes up.

LeBron can't leave cleveland. If he left in 2 years everyone would hate him forever and that matters to him.

he will only leave cleveland if things start going south, which he has proven before that he doesnt have the patience to deal with things going south

and it doesnt save them money if he turns around and signs for the max again when the cap goes up because the new max will be higher

either way he deserves the max as does melo, only gatobatit is a hypocrite for calling one greedy and not the other

it saves the money for RIGHT NOW.

and then later it allows him to resign for the max THEN go after free agents because they aren't going to hit the hard cap before resigning james to the new max deal. Just makes it easier for those 2 years to really know what their figure is... not that they couldn't figure it out with a little 6th grade math :dog

but anyway... melo taking 120 vs 129 isn't anything lebron not signing a HUGE deal isn't anything.

Until a player like lebron takes 10/yr to win a championship im fucking :yawn

I was under the impression that when player signed for more years there was more money on the table. Like when the players can sign for more money to stay with a team. It all seems pretty confusing to me.

Why guarantee only $42.1 million, when a full maximum contract is $88 million over four years for a player switching teams.

yeah there was more money on the table. you're welcome :finger

its 4 mil over 4 years vs 9 mil over 6 right?

thats the point... both are saving their teams nothing. when they play for half price to win i will be impressed.

the only way i could see melos 9 mil over 5 years (not 6) saving them money is if it is all focused on the 2010 season

like he got paid like this 120 mil over 5 years
26 16 26 26 26 which would make the 9 million significant because it would free up extra cap room for the 2010 season, which is when they will attempt to add marc gasol or some other big free agent

Jesus you people dont follow this much do you.

Lebrons contract is set up to help Cleveland with Cap space in two years. Christ follow what is happening more.

Try to understand what is going on before assuming things. Carmelo took 2 mill less a year to get a five year deal no one else would be near that. He set the Knicks back for five years now. Lebrons contract is all about cap space and nothing more. But please. Continue to not know the story fullyplease

Max contract goes up every year.

so anyone who signs a max contract now is saving money for their team?

120 over 5 is much bigger salary cap hit than 40 for 2... thats easy math
