Not all the way. I still have conservative beliefs as well.

Just tell me why Florida and Alabama are outlawing lab grown meat?

1. Who wants to eat lab grown meat anyway? That's one of the most dystopian things I've heard, just short of "eat the bugs and live in the pods". Lab grown meat is probably just a bridge between here and there. Pretty sure lab grown meat is only allowed in 1.5% of all countries. Think of all the other unnatural things we've done to food over the last century, and how almost every one (if not every one) has lead to health problems. The US may be the worst first-world country when it comes to food regulation. We allow so much garbage in our food that other countries do not.

2. We haven't had a party of small government since at least the 90's, when Republicans took over congress and we actually had a surplus (though we kind of cheated to get there). The interest alone on US debt is about to top $1 trillion per year. :facepalm Banning freak show meat is the least of our problems.

I don’t want to eat it yet, but I’d like to see where it leads. I don’t like killing animals, and we could use the land for forests that are currently used for raising cattle. That’s besides the point, why do republicans want to ban it? They claim they want their freedoms but go about banning everything that they disagree with.

That’s not freedom.

You wanted Ron Paul as president, would he ban lab grown meat? I think they only banned it because they make money from the farmers.

I think most of the republicans and probably all the politicians to be honest, only vote for their wallets. They definitely aren’t making the best choices for us.

2. I wasn’t old enough for the 90’s to know anything real about politics, but I was gonna say the 2000’s after 9/11 is when it kicked into gear for the freedoms.

It leads to eating the bugs an living in the pods.

JdPat04 wrote:I don’t like killing animals

...except unborn humans.

JdPat04 wrote:and we could use the land for forests that are currently used for raising cattle.

The great plains weren't meant to be forests. That's why they never were. Properly raised cattle are actually good for the land, ecosystem, and climate. Also, a meat lab is not a forest.

JdPat04 wrote:That’s besides the point, why do republicans want to ban it?

I'm sure they've stated reasons. Why not look it up? Anyway, here are some:
-Cell-culture growth mediums contain something called Fetal Bovine Serum or FBS. FBS is extracted from the fetuses of pregnant cows at slaughter houses and involves a painful process where a giant needle is inserted into the baby cows heart and their blood is completely drained.
-While lab-grown meat proponents claim that this technology will drastically reduce land, water, energy inputs, and greenhouse gas emissions associated with meat production, the data backing up these claims is a bit lacking. Some studies even indicate that lab-grown meat might end up being MORE resource intensive to produce than raising and slaughtering animals.
-When large quantities of cells are grown together with rapid cell division and proliferation, dysregulation and mutations often occur, as what happens with cancer cells. How will this dysregulation be screened out? Will some cells with cancer-like properties make it through the screening process? How safe is that to eat? What about the gene editing of cells to create specific characteristics or adjust nutritional properties of the meat? What are the long-term risks or unintended side-effects of that?

Everything? Examples, please.

JdPat04 wrote:You wanted Ron Paul as president, would he ban lab grown meat?

I don't agree with Rob Paul's positions on everything.

JdPat04 wrote:I think they only banned it because they make money from the farmers.

It would probably drive all the ones who raise cattle properly out of business, while your mass factory farms would survive. Ah, utopia.

JdPat04 wrote:I think most of the republicans and probably all the politicians to be honest, only vote for their wallets. They definitely aren’t making the best choices for us.

Duh.

PATRIOT Act was the worst, yet no one will get rid of it. No one even talks about getting rid of it.

I can’t break it down like you did because I’m on mobile.

What’s wrong with eating bugs? People eat bugs already. There are bugs in our food that we eat already. If there is no harm in eating bugs, why would you care? You don’t have to eat the lab grown meat, so why worry about the others that want to?

I don’t like killing humans either. In a utopia, everyone would use birth control until they are ready to have kids, and only those that would be good parents would have them. That’s not the case though. I would also be more against abortions if the politicians actually cares about the kids that were being born. They don’t. The kids that are being born to people who would abort them, are being mistreated, malnourished, and creating a larger burden on everyone else. They aren’t being adopted, they aren’t being cared for.

The Great Plains aren’t the only places that cattle are raised. They are all over the place here in Alabama. Also the Amazon jungle wasn’t meant to be deforested, but yet, here we (humans) are destroying it. The desert wasn’t meant to have major cities built in it, but we are doing it.

How are cows better for the ecosystem than a forest or naturally occurring habitat? How are they good for the climate? The methane gas they release is not good, unless I’ve been reading the wrong info this whole time.

So they are banning this because they care about the pain that animals feel? :biglol

They don’t give a flying fuck about the animals. They only care about the kickbacks they are getting.

I remember them claiming all kinds of evils about marijuana and not allowing studies and research to be done on marijuana. Seems the same thing is happening here. The data might be wrong, and may not be.

Stuff republicans banned or tried to ban.
“Don’t say gay”, don’t say global warming/climate change. Gay marriage, abortion, birth controls, lab grown meat, marijuana use, lotteries, and I can find more. Those are just ones that I can think about.

“Probably drive them out of business”. I think that’ll probably be happening anyways, when you have large corporations creating more and more monopolies.

Agreed about the patriot act, and none of the politicians ever will get rid of it, anybody who tried would have no chance in getting elected or re-elected because the big corps that want it, would make sure they weren’t.

LOL, propaganda.

JdPat04 wrote:don’t say global warming/climate change

Source?

JdPat04 wrote:Gay marriage

What, in the 1990s? Who was the first presidential candidate to support gay marriage prior to getting elected? And the guy before him said marriage was between a man and a woman... before changing his mind.

JdPat04 wrote:abortion

I can't find anywhere that it's banned. "Sensible abortion control", maybe... :dog

Idaho appears to be the most strict, but nowhere close to a ban:
The law does allow exceptions for maternal health, rape, and incest within the first trimester. It also includes an exception for when a doctor judges that an abortion is necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman. In July 2023, the abortion ban was amended to exclude ectopic and molar pregnancies, which can result in the death of both the mother and the fetus if not terminated.

Also, the right to be given the chance to live seems pretty fundamental to me. No one gets to choose if they are aborted, but I'd imagine few would choose that.

JdPat04 wrote:birth controls

Where?

JdPat04 wrote:lab grown meat

Like 98.5% of countries? Good. Let someone else be the guinea pig. How many states have banned this garbage, two?

JdPat04 wrote:marijuana use

True, but it's still easy as fuck to get, and keeps people from smoking weed in front of my kids... most of the time.

JdPat04 wrote:lotteries

All those damned Republicans in... Hawaii? Nevada is probably casino-related, Utah is full of Mormons, and no one lives in Alaska. So pretty much Alabama only.

JdPat04 wrote:and I can find more. Those are just ones that I can think about.

I think you need to find more. Aside from weed, you have a couple of things banned in a few places. Republicans apparently don't disagree with much. :dunno

"Sure, everything costs 20% more than it did 4 years ago, I can't afford rent - much less a mortgage, we have a government that treats concerned parents as terrorists, labels inconvenient truth as 'disinformation' and suppresses it, steals from one and gives to another, crushes small business, allows men to take scholarships from women, supports treating people differently based on race... but I think we should stay the course so I can gamble, eat fake food, get high at da club, get knocked up, and delay my abortion for 39 weeks." :2thumbs

Repugs don't care about people. They care only about themselves. They also think the 2nd Amendment is worth all the people, all the CHILDREN, that get killed by guns every single year. Repugs hate abortion and love school shootings.

"Yuh can't tek er guns!"
"More guns = less shootings."

Also because they make up the majority of Flerfer retards. "God didn't make no globes! The Bible tells me so."

Reading comprehension is hard for you?
“All politicians”

I don’t feel the need to shit on liberals on here because I know y’all don’t like liberals. It’s preaching to the choir. The same reason I’m not on Reddit shitting on conservatives. Screaming into an echo chamber on there.

As you can see, muck can refute, and debate opinions on republicans. Not so much for the rest of you though.
