Hey dummy, it's a preseason game!

What an idiot!!!!

:ROFL2

Former LSU RB Leonard Fournette got his feet wet Thursday night in the Jaguars’ preseason game against the Patriots.

Fournette carried the ball nine times for 31 yards and a TD, and according to him, adjusting to the speed of the NFL has been a breeze, thanks to playing the SEC, via NFL.com.

“It’s a lot slower than I really thought,” Fournette said. “That’s how I’ve been since I first got into the NFL. A lot of people were like, ‘It’s going to be fast.’ But by me playing in the SEC that kind of helped me a lot. I think to me it was really easy.”

Fournette has never lacked confidence, and the Jaguars feel he’s capable of leading the NFL in rushing during his rookie season. That’s why they drafted him No. 4 overall this spring. Jags head coach Doug Marrone watched Fournette for the first time on the sidelines and saw him have no issue adjusting to the physical NFL game.

“I think you can see he is a powerful kid, powerful running back and I just wanted to make sure about ball security,” Marrone said. “Things like you don’t see when you are at this level, you want to see, obviously it is a physical game, and you want to see how he reacts to it, and he had no issue with that at all.”

While everyone in the football world is watching him adjust in the NFL (some rooting for and others against), pressure is nothing new for Fournette. After all, he was the former No. 1 high school player in the country and arguably the top back in the country at LSU, so adjusting to added pressure isn’t a big issue either, he says.

“I’ve had pressure my whole life,” Fournette said. “I’m built for it. No matter what the circumstances, I’ve never let the game get bigger than me and I’ve always stayed humble. That’s number one.”

No doubt Fournette has all the physical capabilities to be a big-time NFL back, but staying healthy will be paramount in the NFL where the shelf-life of a RB is short-lived.

He talkin' 'bout practice? Practice?!?

I think he will have a fine career, but Freeman/Cook will be better. He can't do the shit he did in college unless he wants a short career. Being fast/elusive is more important in the NFL. I'd use him mostly as 3rd down and goal line back as a rookie.

It's pretty much implied. He looks stupid even mentioning the SEC. He played in a pre-season football game. Hell, I can hit a home run every time on a little league field.

No he didn't. It's what the people who took a piece of his full quote led us to believe until we read his quote.

"It's slower than I EXPECTED"

Meaning everyone told him it's gonna be SOOO fast but it's not as fast as he expected. If he expected them to be twice as fast and they were only half as fast... They weren't as fast as he expected.

Everyone told him a preseason game was going to be soooo fast?

It is a waste of journalistic effort! It should have never made print!!!

I would guess they say "the NFL is so much faster"

I've often heard "people" talk about the speed of their practices being faster that a college practice.

So you could take into better context that from what he has experienced so far... It wasn't as big a difference that he expected.

9 carries for 31 yards is not that impressive. I bet any money he gets injured at least a few games, dude is made out of glass.

He's already injured!!!!

Leonard Fournette has a foot injury...

Maybe the NFL isn’t as easy as Leonard Fournette thought it would be, after all.

The rookie, taken fourth overall in the draft, has a foot injury. Coach Doug Marrone disclosed the condition to reporters on Sunday, adding that the team is “being careful with him.”

It may be nothing and it possibly wouldn’t keep Fournette from playing in a game that counts, but one of the most important attributes of a high-end NFL running back is durability. After a raucous freshman year at LSU, questions about Fournette’s ability to stay healthy have emerged from time to time, culminating in Fournette (according to his former head coach in Baton Rouge) missing last year’s bowl game due to an injury.

Fournette rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown in his preseason debut, declaring after the contest against the Patriots that the game wasn’t as fast or as difficult as he thought it would be. But the game continues to be very fast and very hard for anyone stuck on the sidelines due to injury.

I liked it when Fournette just took it straight up the middle for 3-5 yards. It was so exciting.

:yawn The NFL sucks so much ass. I'm pretty sure they designed the new gloves to be super easy just so they could get more people interested in it.
